Dr. Charles is originally from Montana and moved to Reno to attend medical school at the University of Nevada School of Medicine where he stayed to complete his residency in Psychiatry through the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.  Dr. Charles is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.  He is a skilled psychotherapist, specializing in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy.  He enjoys working with patients to live a meaningful and fulfilling life.  This is done by addressing the needs of the whole person including diet changes, vitamins, physical activity, and connecting to life values.

Dr. Charles is trained in Ketamine and Spravato treatment.  He is the head of the Ketamine and Spravato treatment program at Reno Psychiatric Associates.  He is excited to offer this new treatment to patients suffering from treatment resistant depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, bipolar depression.

 

Dr. Charles is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying mountain biking, hiking, fly fishing and water sports.  He believes Reno is a wonderful place to live and plans to continue to provide compassionate care in the region for many years to come.
